Attention citizens! A mobile carnival of freaks and outsiders is occupying the streets of your city!

Bizarre beggars, autistic musicians, orphan streetwalkers, black market human milk sellers, men who play with dolls, plastic bag collectors, crazy balloon ladies ...  strange, foreign, loud and sometimes even smelly...  but somehow you just can't look away.

They don't want your money, they want some real change!

Beggars Ball combines entertaining colorful spectacle, absurd humor and socially engaged provocations with one final mission: To create a temporary "free zone" where the boundaries of age, race and class are dismantled. A "pop-up carnival" which allows audiences to overcome their fears and inhibitions, to play together as equals and use the streets in a way they haven't done before...

The outstretched hand is not asking you for your coins - it is an invitation to dance!

Inspired by Brecht, Artaud, Monty Python, Sex Pistols and the Teletubbies the project works on many different levels... the characters and the actions adapt to the local situation, connect to current events, involve local residents and open issues of social exclusion, xenophobia and the consumerist society (in a way that makes you shake your hips ;).

Get in touch for more information and material, and let's bring the story of the Beggars Ball to your city!

If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they’ll kill you.
— George Bernard Shaw
Sometimes it’s more important to be human, than to have good taste.
— Berthold Brecht
